This year’s Summer Camp Schedule is better than ever with more camps, more variety, and more fun than ever before.  You can read full descriptions of each camp below.  Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to check out our Things to Know section.

Little Artists Camp (ages 2-6)

June 10th – 14th  9:30 – 12:00 …  $170

July 15th – July 19th  9:30 – 12:00 …  $170

The Little Artist Camp will bring a combination of Eurythmic, Art, Singing, Dancing and Creative Play.  Children will listen to stories and develop their expression while learning musical and artistic fundamentals in a fun, creative way.  Activities will include Puppet Theatre, Instrument Making, Putting on a Show, and more!

Art Camp I “Artists & Techniques”

June 10th – 14th 9:00-1:30 … $180

All supplies included

Exploring famous artists is lots of fun and a great opportunity to expose even
the youngest children to new art processes and techniques. We are going to
create artwork based off the styles of Jackson Pollock and Modigliani as well as
murals, statues & more!

Musical Theatre Camp (ages 7+)

June 17th – June 28th 9:00-1:30 … $330

This year’s musical theatre camp will take advantage of the fantastic
theatre at Kat’s Artist Tree to present a full show including lights,
costumes, sound and all of the elements that go into a fully staged theatre
production. This camp will give students the opportunity to use their
creative minds and help them learn the basics of stage work, whether it be
acting or singing. Students of all experience levels will have a chance to
take part in the production, build self-confidence, make lasting friendships,
and learn to be a team player. At the end of the two-week camp students
will perform for friends and families in the Theatre at Kat’s Artist Tree.

Songwriting Camp (ages 9+)

June 3rd – 7th 9:00 – 1:30 … $180

This camp will help students take their song from idea to reality.  Students of any instrument can sign up to work on every step in the song-writing process including composing, arranging and notating their song.  In addition, the camp will offer guidance toward proper Copywriting to protect their work.

Theatre Tech

June 24th – June 28th 9:00 – 1:30 … $180

Become part of the the crew for our Musical Theatre Camp and explore the worlds of Sound, Lights, Stage Direction and more.  A show is only as good as the people who make it happen and this camp gives our students a chance to get behind-the-scenes and make some magic!

Costume Making Camp

June 24th – June 28th 9:00 – 1:30 … $180

Design and build custom costumes for our Musical Theatre Camp.  Students will get exposure to the entire process of dressing a cast from concept to performance with participation in every stage.  Prior experience with sewing is helpful but not required.  Bring your creativity and you inner seamstress or tailor!

Piano Camp

June 17th – June 20th 9:00 – 1:30 … $180

July 8th – July 11th 9:00 – 1:30  … $180

Students in the Piano Camp will be allowed to experience many areas not typically covered in group classes or private lessons.  Examples include improvisation, sight-reading skills, music theory, and musicianship development, as well as exposure to the history of music from different periods.

Fine Art Camp “Acrylic painting” (ages 7+)

June 17th – June 21st 9:00-1:30 … $200

All supplies included

Exploring acrylic painting techniques is a wonderful way to get used to the medium. Any time you play with an art material, you become more comfortable with it and you will approach future projects with confidence. Advanced course for kids who want to create their own acrylic painting.

Rock Band Camp (ages 11+)

July 22nd – July 26th  9:00 – 1:30 … $180

Want know what it’s like to be a professional musician?  Open to all instrumentalists (drums, bass, guitar, piano, horns, strings), this camp will push students to learn a variety a songs in multiple genres (rock, pop, musical theatre, jazz, etc.) just like professional studio musicians.  Working alongside the Voice Camp, the ensemble will develop skills to help them learn music quickly and prepare a program to perform on the final day of camp.  (to be successful, students should have strong sight-reading skills)

Dance Camp (ages 7+)

June 3rd – 7th 9:00 – 1:30 … $170

Our Dance camp will familiarize students with different styles of dance such as Hip-Hop, Jazz,  Basic Ballet, and Acro. Each day will focus on each style, giving the students a well -rounded experience and open new horizons for them.  Proper dress code is required, please contact the Academy for details.

Young Singers & Actors Camp (ages 7+)

July 15th – July 19th 9:00 – 1:30 … $180

This camp will give younger students the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with professional performing artists.  Intended for aspiring performers, campers will learn the basics of performing, auditioning, presentation, and dealing with stage fright.  Students will also be working on the professional level equipment available at the Kat’s Artist Tree Theatre.

Fencing Camp (ages 8+)

June 10th – 14th 9:00 – 1:30 …  $200

Our fencing camp is designed for both beginning and intermediate fencers.  Each day will include a combination of drill, footwork, and electric bounting competition.  This camp is a great way to explore the fantastic challenges of fencing and get fit at the same time.  A limited amount of equipment is available for beginner students.

Character Creation through Fashion Hair & Makeup (ages 7-17)

July 22nd – July 26th 9:00 – 1:30 … $200

Campers are taught an array of important skills like sewing and pattern-making so they can bring their fashion design visions to life. We will use sketches, illustrations, and discuss how clothing fits on the human body to create exciting clothes and accessories.

Students will show off their designs by posing for a mock-magazine cover and performing an awesome Fashion Showcase for friends and family on the last day of camp.

Acting Camp (ages 10-18)

July 8th – July 12th 9:00 – 1:30 … $180

Campers will get in touch with their inner Thespian in this in-depth look into the acting process.  Through the use of Monologues, Scene Work, and exercises in empathy and visualization students will emerge with a better understanding of the art of Acting.

Prior acting or performance experience is not required.

Photography Camp (ages 10-18)

June 3rd – 7th 9:00 – 1:30 … $180

Camp will focus on getting the right exposure, composition, lighting, posing and how to get tack sharp focus. We will also look at different types of photography such as Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Action, and more.   Students are required to have a digital camera, preferably with manual settings.

Art Camp III: Cartooning

July 8th – July 12th 9:00-1:30 … $180

All supplies included

Have fun and get creative with this expressive and engaging art style.  From funny cartoons to thrilling comics, this camp will teach students how to develop their characters and bring them to life on the page.

Voice Camp (ages 12+)

July 22nd – July 26th 9:00-1:30 … $180

This year’s camp will give singers an opportunity to work alongside an instrumental ensemble.  By doing so they will learn necessary skills that singers need to be successful working musicians.  Students will work along with the Studio Band Camp to perform pieces in a variety of styles from Jazz to Pop, Rock, and Musical Theatre.

New students to Kat’s Artist Tree may need one voice lesson/assessment before signing up for this camp – call office for details

Audio & Video Recording (ages 13+)

July 15th – July 19th 9:00 – 1:30 … $180

Students in this camp will get to explore the basics of both music and video recording and editing.  Utilizing top-notch, professional equipment students will learn how use today’s tools to achieve creative results.

Things to Know…

What to Expect

  • Students should typically come dressed in comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes

If participating in fencing or any camp that involves dancing or otherwise working on the stage, students wearing flip-flops or sandals may not be able to participate for safety reasons

  • Students should bring a bag-lunch that does not need to be refrigerated or heated
  • It’s always a good idea to have a bottle of water with a closed lid
  • Musical Theatre, Singing/Acting, Fashion, Voice, and all Art Camps will culminate in an open performance or gallery in the last 30 minutes of the last day of camp

Extended Care

  • Parents can arrange extended care at Kat’s Artist Tree for an additional $15 per day
  • Early drop-off may be available, contact the office for details

Deposit & Cancellations

  • All camps require a 50% deposit paid at the time of registration
  • Please be sure all of your summer plans have been take into consideration before registering for a summer camp. We do our best to secure the best teaching artists in the valley to instruct our summer campers and maintain low cost. To do so we do not offer refunds on summer camp classes.
