Caryn was born in the great state of Indiana, her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona when she was 3 years old. She was blessed to grow up in a musical family. Her father sang, played the trumpet, and was a worship leader in the church. Her mother, sang, played piano and worked alongside her father on the praise team. Watching her parents sparked her passion for music and when she was 6, she received her first opportunity to sing a duet on stage with her mother. She performed in her elementary school choir, church choir, and also played flute until her sophomore year of high school. She would sit at the piano with an old lesson book and taught herself how to play and sometimes received lessons from her mother. When she was a senior in high school she interned with her church worship pastor and led worship for her youth group.
In 2006, Caryn, left for college in Olathe, Kansas to study Music Ministry. Her musical journey since has brought her back to Arizona with her husband and now three beautiful daughters. She is currently a student at Grand Canyon University working towards her Bachelors in Vocal Performance, under the private voice instruction of Carol Jennings. In Caryn’s, college career, she has been a part of three choirs, tutored students in music theory, and had the opportunity to work with Dr. Sheila Corley and retired ASU voice faculty member Darleen Kliewer-Britton, through vocal master classes.
Her passion for music has grown over the years along with the desire to teach and inspire others through the joy of music. She is excited to be working at Kats Artist Tree and looks forward working with you and inspiring your child on their musical journey.
