Joe Mansfield – Winds & Brass

Joe Mansfield is an active clarinetist, saxophonist, and music educator in Phoenix, Arizona. He has earned his Bachelor of Music in music education from Youngstown State University and his Master of Music in clarinet performance from Carnegie Mellon University. His clarinet teachers include Alice Wang, Thomas Thompson and Michael Rusinek.  

Joe has performed with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, Tuesday Night Big Band, Glendale Community Band,  and the Packard Concert Band.  He has been a featured soloist with the Mercer County Community Band, Youngstown State University Wind Ensemble, and the Carnegie Mellon University Wind Ensemble.  Additionally, he has had the pleasure of performing with internationally known acts such as The Who, Yo-Yo Ma, and Weird Al Yankovic.  

Joe is currently the Director of Bands at Estrella Vista STEM Academy and Quentin STEM Academy, where he directs the 5th-8th grade bands.  He also performs regularly at Christ Presbyterian Church in Goodyear, Arizona.  Joe loves sharing his knowledge with students to help them grow as musicians.
