Ms. Laura is beginning her collegiate musical training at Phoenix Community College before transferring to Arizona State University. She is majoring in Choral Conducting with a minor in Piano. Ms. Laura is a young artist from Tolleson, Arizona that has been involved in the arts since she was 6 years old when she began singing in her church’s choir. During middle school, she was a featured soloist in many school musicals such as Aladdin Jr., Annie Jr., Seussical Jr., and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Ms. Laura attended Arizona School for the Arts (ASA) from 2016-2020. While there, she studied classical piano, choral education, music theory, and history of music. While participating in the honors choral program, singing soprano in concert and chamber choirs, she performed works in many languages such as Latin, Spanish, French, Italian, and more. Notable works performed include Vivaldi’s Gloria and Mozart’s Coronation Mass.
During her school years, Ms. Laura took private lessons in piano and voice with Katarzyna Honsberger for many years. She has also studied piano with professionally renowned pianists Paul Voia-Tipei, Dani Shraibman, Dr. Cheung-Yueh, and Dr. John Yoontae Hwang. During her senior year of high school, she was chosen as a teaching assistant for the ASA Choral Department, and worked with renowned choir directors Dana Bender, Jessica Elder, Jason Raetz, and Dr. Paul-Josef Curtis. As part of ASA’s honors Chamber Singers, Ms. Laura participated in the Jazz Madrigal Festival at NAU where her choir earned the highest ranking of Supreme.
Ms. Laura has apprenticed at Kat’s Artist Tree as a piano and voice teacher, teaching summer camps in musical theatre, piano, singing and acting. She has also performed all over the valley in the last 10 years representing Kat’s Artist Tree. Ms. Laura is looking forward to continuing to help others grow their musical talents at Kat’s Artist Tree.
