Mia Johnson ~ voice & piano

Mia Johnson has traveled all around the world performing classical repertoire in places such as: Oregon, Carnegie Hall (New York), South America and The Sydney Opera house (Australia). She is a proud, alumni of the Phoenix Children’s Chorus, where she performed for 9 years. 

Mia has participated in numerous performances around the valley as well. She received a National Youth Award for her supporting role as Medda Larkin in Valley Youth Theater’s performance of “Newsies.” She also received a superior rating at the C.A.F.T. festival. During high school, she was nominated for awards in categories of best set and musical direction at the ASU Gammage High School Awards. 

Additionally, Mia has worked as a music director for many different productions. One of the productions she worked on, “The 25th Annual Putnam Bee,” received the National Youth Award. Mia has a strong love for pop culture as well and has participated in concerts such as Roger Waters (2011) and Nico & Vinz at the Pro Bowl (2015)! 

When she is not performing, Mia loves to teach! In addition to teaching at KAT’s, she teaches the musical theater program at the Phoenix Theater during the summer! Mia is honored to come back and teach at Kat‘s Artist Tree after being a student from 7th to 12th grade.
