Sidni Powell is currently a music education major at Grand Canyon University studying with Dr. Katherine Shields. Her musical journey began at 5 years old when she started learning piano. At 13, she began violin and soon switched to her primary instrument. Soon after she quickly fell in love with the viola as well. At age 17 she began learning cello after receiving one as a gift. She also has been learning double bass and guitar throughout her time at GCU. She is currently a member of the Grand Canyon University String Ensemble where she plays violin, viola, cello, and double bass. In addition to performing and teaching, Sidni enjoys doing archery, playing football and arranging music.
