Dance

At Kat’s Artist Tree, our dance program offers classes for everyone. Our non-competitive, nurturing environment offers high quality training for students of all ages. No matter your, or your child’s, background, there is a class to fit your specific goals and interests. Each class is designed around our written syllabus and curriculum, and performance opportunities are provided for all levels.


Pre-Professional Ballet

Our Pre-Professional Division is designed to equip growing artists with a working knowledge of classical ballet technique and performance. Pre-Ballet

Boys and Girls age 3-5 Preschool aged students are introduced to ballet in a fun and inviting atmosphere. Dancers learn basic ballet technique, musicality, and coordination, all through creative storytelling and imaginative play. Stretch & Strength

Designed especially for dancers who want to gain flexibility and control. Stretch and Strength provides the extra cardio, muscle development, and cross-training students need to prevent injuries, continue on pointe, and excel in their dance classes.

Ballet Level 2

Boys and Girls age 8+ Beginning ballet technique and terminology are further introduced. Students develop their understanding of ballet alignment, and develop strength and flexibility needed for ballet.

Teen & Adult Ballet

For teens and adults who want to take it slow and learn the basics. No experience needed. Wear traditional ballet attire, casual workout attire, or a combination of both; ballet shoes are strongly recommended.

Yoga

This class focuses on the postures of yoga in a relaxed atmosphere. Strength, flexibility, balance, and breath control are promoted, working through the body’s full range of motion. No experience necessary.

Contemporary Ballet

Contemporary is a blend of classical, modern, and jazz styles with a solid ballet foundation. Students will learn expression, musicality, coordination, and movement dynamics through exercises and choreography. Ballet training through Level 4 is required.

Acro Dance

Acro dance style combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements.  Drawing from ballet, jazz, lyrical, and modern dance styles, Acro is defined by the smooth, graceful transitions between dance and acrobatic movements.  This particularly demanding style is a physical, but rewarding challenge for participants.

Tap Dance

A uniquely American dance form, Tap draws on influences from around the world. This rhythmic and energetic style uses special shoes with metal caps on the toes and heels which dancers use to created a percussive-rhythmic effect with each step.

Ballet I

Boys and Girls ages 5-7 Beginning ballet technique and terminology are introduced. Students learn correct ballet placement, musicality and grace, as well as build strength and flexibility.
