Heather Loomis ~ Voice & Piano

Heather Loomis – Voice & Piano

Heather Loomis is a singer/songwriter and pianist from Troy, Michigan. She started taking piano lessons at the age of five, and over the years developed a love for music theory and writing her own music. When she was 10, she moved to Goodyear, Arizona, and not long after, started taking voice lessons. Even though she loved singing for as long as she can remember, she was very nervous to sing in front of anyone in the early years of her vocal lessons. But through the development of her technique, she gained the confidence to perform for the first time, and soon, they couldn’t get her off the stage!

Growing up, she would write songs for herself about everything, from her life to movies/tv shows she liked. When she was in school, she would even write songs to help her remember certain facts, information, or equations for tests. She eventually decided she wanted to go to college to study songwriting and performing.

Heather went to the University of Colorado Denver, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Music with a Singer/Songwriter emphasis. She studied performance, music business, songwriting, vocal pedagogy, and recording arts. She also received one-on-one coaching from Broadway performers on vocal technique and acting through song. Heather performed as a vocal percussionist and second soprano in the award-winning, all-female a cappella group, Lark. As a member of Lark, she found a love for vocal arranging, which heavily influenced her songwriting going forward. During her time in Denver, she performed her original music at venues throughout the city. She writes music in an array of styles, including pop, indie, jazz, and musical theatre. In early 2022, she released her first solo single, “Healing” on all major music platforms.

After she graduated, Heather was hired by Triad Performing Arts of Arizona to write the music for a brand-new musical, Annalie and the Circus Show. She wrote ten songs for the show, which premiered in May of 2022 and turned out to be a great success. In the second run of Annalie, the following year, she wrote two new songs for the show and was cast as one of the main roles, Kimberly. It is her favorite project she has worked on to date. She loved working with all the talented performers to bring her songs to life on stage and seeing the impact it had on so many people.
